But there is one thing you can do to get this healthy glowing skin and it’s found in your grocery store. Food has been proven to deliver all the necessary nutrients that will hydrate your skin, prevent wrinkle and sun damage as well as simply make you healthy and feel oh so good… Here are the miracle workers:

  • SWEET POTATOES, TOMATOES, CANTALOUPE, CARROTS—the pigments that produce orange and red colors in these, are also full of antioxidants that will protect your skin from free radicals, which cause wrinkles. Effect: wrinkle protection and hydration.
  •  CITRUS FRUIT, BELL PEPPERS—loaded with vitamin C, which is a known wrinkle prevention weapon. Vitamin C helps keep collagen (protein fibers that keep your skin from sagging) strong and supple. To slow down the aging process, you should start eating a lot of these early and often since collagen breakdown begins in mid 30s.
  • TEA (green, black, white)—full of a very potent antioxidant EGCG (epigallocatechin-3-gallate), which is probably one of the most resourceful miracle workers. It stops the inflammation caused by acne or sun exposure, helps prevent skin cancer, suppress skin tumors and, most of all, it contains L-theanine (a de-tensing amino acid) that keeps collagen in one piece.
  •  SPINACH, TURNIP GREENS, BROCCOLI (and other green leafy vegetables)—are one of the best sources of vitamin A, one of the most skin essential vitamins, which supports skin cell regeneration. The lack of it causes skin to become flaky, dry and tough. Definitely not what a self-respecting person would want!
  • SALMON, TROUT, TUNA, ATLANTIC MACKEREL, SARDINES, PACIFIC HERRING, MOST SHELLFISH—packed with omega-3 fatty acids, which not only are good for your heart, but your skin as well. They fight the aging process, inflammation, as well as protect from sun damage, enhancing your SPF. Protein found in these fish helps build and repair skin cells as well as produce enzymes that give your skin the longed-after glow.

So here it is. Incorporate these products in your diet (and it really isn’t a chore…is it?) and you will not only look and feel younger but you will actually be younger. The researchers have proven that antioxidants can reverse your biological age!
