TAKE A MINUTE AND ENJOY THE VIEW…
Lately I have gotten a chance to watch “The View” and I find myself turning the TV set on in the mornings whenever I get some free time. I’ve never been a fan before (it somewhat annoyed me…) but since Whoopi Goldberg joined the crew, I must admit it’s quite interesting to watch. And I love Whoopi! She is an incredibly intelligent woman and a fantastic addition to the show. Besides, you can trust her to tell it like it is.
The dynamics of the show are pretty fascinating, and the way the ladies are seated only accentuates that. Whoopi and Joy are on the left (from the viewer’s perspective) and Sherri and Elizabeth are on the right. I find myself agreeing with the left side of the panel… (and I always thought of myself as a right-winged one…hmmm).
Unfortunately, more often than not, I get really frustrated with Elizabeth. She is about my age therefore I cannot possibly understand how come someone so young can be at the same time so incredibly dumb… I’m not trying to offend anyone here… It’s just that many times when Elizabeth opens her mouth it’s as if she simply repeats what has been drilled into her brains without really forming her own thoughts and conclusions. And it is infuriating at times.
I don’t mind a heated discussion. It is actually quite welcome. Even if the discussion takes place with someone I absolutely disagree with. However, if one constantly repeats the same stupid statements, whether to the point or not (and many times rather not…), it makes me want to say: “Oh, just shut up already!”
And more often than I’d like to admit, I find myself totally annoyed with that woman. Especially when she starts talking politics. Sometimes it almost seems as if she is constantly on the defensive when it comes to McCain. As soon as she hears his name, she jumps into defending him regardless of what has been said (negative or positive, likewise)…
It’s quite surprising when one thinks about it, though. I tend to agree a lot more (actually all the time, come to think of it…) with Joy and Whoopi and find their opinions valuable while the younger part of the crew frustrates me with their naïve statements. Go figure…
