COPIED OR NOT?
A few days ago someone accused me of copying an article on my other blog (ecogreentips.com; for those that may be interested).
First, it sort of surprised me and so I followed the link (how nice of them to live me the link to check it out) and I found the article to be quite similar, yes. It even had the exact same title! However, after skimming through it, I realized that even though it does touch upon the same issues and brings forth the same information, it is not the copy of my article nor is my article the copy of it. And such realization pissed me off.
Why, you may wonder… Well, I was angry at the person for posting such an idiotic comment. First of all, one needs to realize that internet is basically for sharing and you cannot prevent people from using the information they find (unless you copyright it, that is). In this respect, more often that I would like, the information one posts is pretty much for everyone out there and if someone decides to use it, it is hardly copying. Besides, certain fields have only so much information available and it is bound to happen that one will find many articles about pretty much the same thing.
And event though I rose above it (or did I?), it leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth (so to speak)…
